CB Deonte Davis was another one of the rare true freshman starters for the Deacs last year, and he comes in at No. 46 in our player countdown.
The 5-10, 185 pound Davis is from Snellville (GA), where he played at South Gwinnett HS and led the Comets to a 10-3 record his senior season.
He racked up eight tackles and a pass breakup in limited action on the field last season.
Davis chose Wake Forest after de-committing from Georgia State in February of 2013. Colorado State, Air Force and Navy also offered.
While Davis is listed at the CB position, it has been said here before how talented the first string corners are. It will be entertaining to see throughout fall camp who is playing where on the second team and backing up the older players.
Davis has a chance to be the next guy in line at the corner spot, and this year will be crucial for his on-field development to being a starter.
