It was a busy day today for the Wake Forest football coaching staff and we are doing all we can to stay on top of it here at BSD. We wrote earlier on offers to Tayvonn Kyle and Elijah McAllister, but the staff has offered three more guys scholarships today.
Two are for the class of 2018, while one was extended to one of the higher rated 2019 defensive tackles in the class.
Here’s a look at the three:
Raiqwon O’Neal (OT, 2018)
Blessed to receive my 2nd offer of the day from Wake Forest 16th overall #DemonDeacons @JoeLHughesII @SWiltfong247 @BDunnsports @BigBratch72 pic.twitter.com/y3tdEiCdfG

Raiqwon O’Neal is a 6-5 OT out of Conway, SC who is quickly rising up the boards in SC. He is similarly rated in the state of South Carolina to current 2018 Wake commit Kelijiha Brown. He received an offer from Illinois earlier in the day.
Akeem Hayes (WR, 2018)
Truly Blessed To Say I Have Received My 10th Offer From Wake Forest ✊ pic.twitter.com/zpq9O6qa1h

Akeem Hayes is a strong N.C. State lean for the class of 2018, but Wake did offer today along with Oregon. He is a 5-10 WR out of Florida who also appears to be creeping up some recruiting boards, and Wake liked what they saw enough to extend an offer.
Ben Smiley (DE, 2019)
Shoutout to GOD for blessing me to receive a scholarship from Wake Forest @MClarkScout #Blessed ✝ pic.twitter.com/wSVtYM6ixJ

Wake appears to be early on 2019 DE Ben Smiley and he could be a really good one. He has offers from Marshall and Maryland already, but has accrued interest from reigning National Champion Clemson and also ACC opponent Virginia Tech. He will be an interesting guy to keep an eye on moving forward.
We will continue to write articles as as the offers come in, as this tends to be a very busy time of the year for recruiting in both basketball and football.
