Justin Strnad Signs with Wake Forest

Defensive coordinator Mike Elko has added another weapon to his defensive backfield as he has officially signed safety/linebacker Justin Strnad out of East Lake High School in Palm Harbor, Florida. Justin stands at 6'3" 205 pounds and could conceivably play the rover position in Elko's 4-2-5 scheme.

Strnad is a 3-star prospect according to 247 and chose Wake Forest over offers from Duke, Illinois, Iowa State and Central Florida. Strnad continues the theme of Wake Forest secondary coach Derrick Jackson recruiting taller defensive backs. Fellow 2015 commit Dionte Austin stands at 6'0" and 2014 safeties Cameron Glenn and Demetrius Kemp stand at 6'2" and 6'0", respectively.

Off the field, Strnad has faced major adversity within his family and I encourage you to read this incredibly inspiring article from his hometown newspaper.  He will definitely be one that I root for a bit more as he continues to make the best out of a tough situation.
