Danny Manning and the Wake Forest basketball staff have offered 2019 small forward Ismael Massoud, per the above tweet from NCAA scout Pat Lawless.
Massoud is a 6-6, 170 pound small forward out of MacDuffie School in Granby, Massachusetts. However he is from the Bronx, New York and attended Cardinal Hayes High School in the Bronx for his freshman season.
247 Sports has him ranked as a 4-star recruit, number 15 at the position, and 116th in the national composite rankings.
So far Massoud also holds offers from Rutgers, Xavier, Oregon, Stanford, and Yale, as well as some smaller schools.
Manning and the staff identified him as a target at one of the major AAU Tournaments taking place this past week.
There is somewhat of a dispute among scouting services as to whether Massoud is a shooting guard or small forward, but it is good to go after players with that type of versatility, as he could likely play either in college.
Below is a YouTube video of his highlights from his sophomore year:
His stock has dropped slightly in recent weeks, but Danny Manning has proven to be great at finding talent early and getting the most out of his players.
Wake is always looking for bigger guards, and Massoud seems to fit this mold.
