Steve Forbes and his staff received their first bit of good news in the transfer portal this offseason, landing a commitment from Marist point guard Jao Ituka, first reported by Les Johns of Demon Deacon Digest.
Ituka led Marist and was third in the MAAC in scoring, averaging 15.3 points a game while hitting 52.6% from the field and 41.0% behind the arc. He added 3.1 rebounds a game, along with 45 assists and 19 steals.
Marist transfer Jao Ituka has committed to Wake Forest, he told ESPN. One of my favorite sleepers in the portal. Elite scorer, per-40 minutes are off the charts. Averaged 15.3 points in just 22 minutes per game. Shot 41% from 3. Had eight 20-point games, including a 34-point one.

While Ituka is the first addition of the offseason, this won’t be the last. In fact it might not be the last of the week. Love this move from Forbes’ staff and goes to show just because things are quiet, doesn’t mean coaches aren’t working.
