Yet ANOTHER transfer has committed to Steve Forbes and the Wake Forest Men’s basketball team.

Khadim Sy, a center hailing from Dakar, Senegal has given his pledge to join the team for the upcoming season over offers from Clemson, ECU, and Minnesota.

Sy spent the last two years at Ole Miss, transferring there after having to drop down from Virginia Tech his freshman year to JuCo at Daytona State.

Getting another big man who can eat some minutes was something that was critical to this team, after losing both Ody Oguama and Emmanuel Okpomo to the transfer portal.

What sticks out to me is his prowess on the defensive side of things. His last two years he has a 97.7 and 95.3 DRtg, meaning his teams were very good defensively when he was on the floor, and he backs that up with a fantastic defensive rebounder.

Offensively he’s fine, finishes around the rim(much needed) when asked, and in 2019-2020 shot over 40% from mid-range. As I mentioned with the Alondes Williams commitment, it’s imperative to get guys like this into the fold that don’t force Forbes to have to run his starters into the ground.

Welcome to Winston, Khadim!!
