Spear continues to build off of an incredible freshman campaign with Wake Forest where she started in all 25 games and averaged 10.9 points shooting 40% from beyond the arc, picking up ACC All-Freshman Team honors along the way. I am also fairly certain she led the team in ankles snatched last season as well.

Her addition to the World Cup Team recognizes her as one of the 12 best players under the age of 19 in the United States, which is an incredible achievement and a testament to the work she has been putting in. She will join forces with the likes of Caitlin Clark, the freshman phenom who averaged 27 points and 7 assists last season for the Iowa Hawkeyes.
"It's gonna be really special because I realize that only 12 people get to wear this jersey." great to talk with @WakeWBB's @spearj23 who was just named to @usabasketball Women's U19 World Cup Team. Tournament will be August 7-15th in Hungary. @WFMY @WakeCoachJen @DemonDeacons pic.twitter.com/PK2q2VjGQU

A big time congratulations to Jewel on this incredible accomplishment. Hopefully she will return to the Deacs next season as a gold medal winner. Go Deacs!
