Taylor originally committed to, and signed with the Clemson Tigers, but backed off his pledge and received a release from his LOI on March 23rd. He initially committed to Clemson over offers from Wake, Marquette, Davidson, Vanderbilt, Xavier, Wisconsin, and Ohio State amongst others.
Taylor is on the bigger side for a guard who can score in bunches and defend multiple positions with his size and length and can get hot from beyond the arc.
Taylor is ranked as the 174th best prospect in the country and 8th in North Carolina according to the 247sports composite.
Wake is replacing a ton of bodies with departures after this past season, and Lucas Taylor is the 2nd name to join the Deacs alongside transfer Jake LaRavia from Indiana State. Wake will look to fill the other 4 scholarships before the season begins whether that be through the transfer portal or any other prospects that havent signed.
Welcome to Winston Lucas!
