Senior forward Ivana Raca has become the second player in Wake Forest Women’s Basketball history to be selected in the WNBA draft, being taken 28th overall by the Los Angeles Sparks.

Raca led the Deacs this season in both points and rebounding, nearly averaging a double double with 16.7 points and 9.0 rebounds per game. She became the fourth player in Wake women’s history to be awarded First Team All-ACC honors and played a critical role in helping the team make the NCAA tournament for just the second time in program history. While the Deacs will definitely miss her production next season, it is always awesome to see a player succeed and achieve their dreams.
In her four year career with Wake Forest, Raca scored 1,469 points and grabbed 705 rebounds, making her top 10 in school history in both categories. She joins Dearica Hamby (6th overall pick in 2015) as the only Wake Forest players drafted into the WNBA. There is no doubt that Raca will go down as one of the best to don the black and gold.
Congratulations Ivana! Go Deacs!
