Wake Forest senior guard Gina Conti has decided to enter her name into the transfer portal and play her final year of eligibility elsewhere.
— Gina Conti (@ginamconti) March 29, 2021
Conti leaves Wake Forest as one of the best point guards in school history. The Ohio native helped lead the Deacs to their second NCAA Tournament berth in school history and averaged 13.8 points and 4.6 assists per game this season. She finishes her career as a Deac second in career assists in Wake Forest history.
With seniors Ivana Raca and Gina Conti both moving on, Jen Hoover is going to have her hands full replacing the more than 30 points, 6.3 assists, 12.8 rebounds, 2 steals, and 1 block per game that the two combined for this season. That is almost half of Wake’s 66.7 points per game this season, so that is definitely not going to be an easy gap to fill.
Good luck to Gina in the future and Go Deacs!
