Freshman Quadry Adams Becomes Fifth Wake Forest Player to Transfer

The Deacs are losing another one

NCAA Basketball: ACC Conference Tournament-Notre Dame Wake Forest Nell Redmond-USA TODAY Sports

Wake Forest freshman guard Quadry Adams has put his name into the transfer portal, becoming the fifth player to transfer in the span of a week. Adams joins Jahcobi Neath, Emmanuel Okpomo, Blake Buchanan, and Isaiah Wilkins in the portal.

Adams was rated as a 3-star recruit and the 69th best point guard in the 2020 class. While he did not get to play much in the early going, he really showed a lot of potential in his opportunities at then end of the season. Adams finished the season with just 20 points and 72 minutes played through 7 games , but 70% of those minutes came in the final four games of the season.

That makes five transfers now for Wake Forest, accounting for four scholarships (Buchanan was a walk-on). It’s getting kind of chaotic in the scholarship situation, but if I’m not mistaken, the Deacs now have four free scholarships for next season (1 free going into season + 4 transfers - Jake Laravia). That likely means Steve Forbes is going to be recruiting heavily in the transfer portal for the next few months.

At this point, its pretty obvious that the Deacs are going to look completely different next season.
