Sophomore guard Jahcobi Neath has officially entered his name into the transfer portal, making him the first player to transfer from Wake Forest this offseason.

Neath started just 4 games this season—fewer than he did in his freshman season—and saw his playing time decrease to 15 minutes per game in the first year of the Forbes era. Many Wake Forest fans are probably not surprised by this news, as Neath did not play in either of Wake Forest’s final two games of the season. It is possible that Neath had already made his intentions to transfer clear to the staff, but stuck around for the final two games to finish the season with his teammates. That is, of course, complete speculation on my part.
Neath finishes his time as a Deac averaging 4.7 points and 2.0 assists per game in 50 total games played. His best game came in a 2020 win over the Duke Blue Devils in his freshman season; Neath finished that game with 16 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals.
We will have to wait and see if this first and last transfer for Wake Forest during the offseason, or if there are more to come.
