New AP and Coaches polls have dropped and they worked in tandem with each other to hand Wake Forest their highest ranking since World War 2.

Per Sports Reference, this is the highest Wake Forest has been in the AP poll since 2006 when they were ranked 14th in the country.
Wake is No. 13 in the AP poll this week. It’s the Deacs’ highest ranking since 10/25/47 when they were 11th. That same week Hillary Clinton and Richard Dreyfuss were born and Ronald Reagan & Gary Cooper testified before house un-American activities commission.

On the heels of an insane 70-56 win over Army, Wake Forest finds themselves 7-0 for the first time in school history, and a good chance to make that 8-0 as they take on a scuffling Duke on Homecoming and Halloween weekend.
This is a team that’s quietly just earned respect throughout the country. While they’re not a team that’s been shutting teams out, blowing people out of the water, or has a signature win, but their wins have quietly become better and better as the weeks have gone on and they are firmly in the driver’s seat to play for an ACC championship in Charlotte, and you bet your ass I’ll be there.
FSU has become a competent team, UVA has one of the best offenses in the country and is still in the hunt for a Coastal title, Louisville has a fair chance at playing their way into being the second-best team in the Atlantic with Malik Cunningham continuing to light teams up, and Syracuse went from a team seemingly on the brink of firing their coach to one that has a great running attack and a more than fair chance to go over .500 this season.
As a cleanser, let’s watch a couple of highlights from yesterday. Also lets get out and support the Deacs the next few weeks. This team has earned the support and is in the middle of what seems to be a magical season.
