The media’s preseason All-ACC teams, Player of the Year, and order of finish were released today. In a surprise to no one, Carlos “Boogie” Basham and Nick Sciba of Wake Forest were both named to the preseason All-ACC team.
Wake Forest picked to finish 10th of 15 teams in the ACC.

Boogie Basham and Nick Sciba picked to All-ACC team.
Boogie got 1 vote (of 134) for ACC Player of the Year.
Basham received 89 votes and Sciba received 69 votes. Boogie also received one vote for the Player of the Year preseason award.
If he had not opted out of the season, Sage Surratt would have almost surely been a selection at receiver.
The Deacs were also picked to finish 10th in the ACC.

There are no divisions this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic and Notre Dame joining the ACC for this year only causing there to be an uneven number of teams. If Surratt were still playing the Deacs surely would have been much higher in the predictions (though maybe not given the media’s general disrespect for Wake in previous years).
Wake also now faces a tougher schedule, as pointed out below by Conor O’Neill.

Congrats to Boogie and Nick. Go show them how it’s done and once again outperform preseason expectations Deacs!
