Steve Forbes has landed another stellar recruit as 2021 PG Carter Whitt has committed to play at Wake Forest. Whitt is a consensus 4 star recruit hailing from Raleigh, North Carolina and rated in the top 70 overall on both Rivals and 247 Sports. Whitt recently transferred up to Brewster Academy in New Hampshire, which if it sounds familiar, is the former home to current Wake Forest player Isaiah Mucius.

From Jerry Meyer on how he sees Whitt: “Good length for a point guard. Average athlete, but has the frame to fill out and hold his own physically. Is a top of the line passer. Excels at the hook pass against the grain. Goes either direction equally well. Will get a little loose with the dribble at times, though. Keeps the defense honest with his shot but has room to improve as a shooter. Average at best defender, but is opportunistic and will compete for rebounds and loose balls.”
Whitt has a litany of offers including NC State, Florida, Virginia, Tennessee, and Memphis, but ultimately chose Wake Forest over Nebraska, Virginia Tech, and Boston College. Carter will join a class that already had combo guard Robert McCray IV who’s now up to 105 in the 247sports composite and received his 4th star recently. Forbes continues to live up to his billing as a very good recruiter and has been fighting tooth and nail to bring some elite recruits into fold, even with the challenges presented to him including Wake coming off multiple losing seasons in a row and COVID putting a freeze on in-person recruiting for the foreseeable future.
Welcome to Wake, Carter!
