The first of many dominoes has fallen, as combo guard Robert McCray V has committed to playing basketball at Wake Forest. Last night McCray took to Instagram Live to announce his decision.

Standing at 6-3, 170 lbs, McCray shows impressive athleticism, great shooting ability and fantastic vision. At his size and with his shooting ability, he can easily play the 1 or 2 at the next level. While 24/7 hasn’t given him a rating(yet), according to Rivals he’s rated as the #131 player in the country, and I’d expect him to be somewhere in the 100-120 range on 24/7 when they update their rankings.

This is an important step for Steve Forbes to get Wake Basketball back on track. McCray is the range of recruit Wake should be absolutely swimming in, and beating out a team like Florida for McCray shows how much of a relationship Forbes and the staff built to ultimately land him.

Welcome to Wake, Robert!
