No Virus can stop Dave Clawson

While Steve Forbes has been drawing the ire of Kentucky fans everywhere, Dave Clawson has been putting in work and seeing results on the (virtual) recruiting trail.

DJ Sims

On Tuesday, Wake got a commitment from a WR out of Richmond, VA. A 3 Star receiver standing at 6-3, 190 lbs, who also has some absolute hops playing on his schools basketball team, Sims actually wasn’t utilized much as high school completed checks notes 66 passes all year, while Sims himself caught 21 passes for for 598 yards and 7 touchdowns.

Wake has had a very good eye when it comes to receivers and Kevin Higgins has shown he’s been fantastic in terms of working with and developing receivers. Welcome DJ!

Brandon Williams

Today, Wake got word that they won a big recruiting battle against Virginia Tech when Defensive End Brandon Williams Jr committed on his birthday to the Demon Deacons.

While listed as a TE, the 6-4 225 lb prospect should be moving to DE. Think more along the side of Boogie Basham rather than Shamar McCollum. Williams also held offers from West Virginia, App State, and ECU. His tape shows a lot of him being a big body and knowing how to use it to get to the football and over the last few recruiting classes Wake has really picked it up getting quality talent there. On a day where good news is welcomed, this is absolutely fantastic news and now all I want is for Clawson to keep up the momentum.

Welcome to Winston, Brandon!
