We’re on the home stretch now, as Wake Forest has just 2 games remaining in the regular season before the ACC Tournament. Tonight, the Deacs take on the North Carolina Tar Heels in a rematch of Wake Forest’s 74-57 win in early February. The matchup to watch in this one will be Olivier Sarr, who scored 30 points and grabbed 17 rebounds in his last outing, against Garrison Brooks, who dropped 26 and 14 in a win over Syracuse on Saturday. A win moves Wake Forest to 7-12 in the conference, which would put them at 11th place temporarily. A loss puts the Deacs at 6-13 in the ACC and would temporarily tie them with Pitt and UNC for 13th place. If I’m not mistaken, Wake holds the tie breaker over Pitt (head to head) and UNC (1-1 against Duke—In the event UNC beats Duke this weekend and UNC and Wake are tied, it would come down to record against whichever 9-9 team ends up in 5th place).
