Wake Forest basketball hasn't played a game since November 27 when they defeated Longwood 71-60. That game may turn out to be the last game the Deacs play in the year 2020, and Wake may enter 2021 sitting at 2-0. The game against Syracuse, scheduled for December 30, has been postponed due to COVID issues in the Syracuse program.

The game is the fifth in a month on Wake’s schedule to be postponed or cancelled after the Deacs dealt with their own COVID issues for much of the last three weeks.
The next scheduled game is January 3 against Georgia Tech, however athletic director John Currie and staff are reportedly trying hard to add another game to the schedule and/or work with the ACC to adjust the conference schedule.
From John Currie in Wake Forest's release:

"We are already discussing options for rescheduling with the ACC and also looking for a non-conference opponent to potentially play next week."
So ... hit the brakes on "Wake's next game will be in 2021," at least for now.
In addition to the postponement, Wake received another blow today when it was announced that redshirt freshman forward Tariq Ingraham will miss the rest of the season as he recovers from COVID-19. Graduate guard Ian DuBose is also out indefinitely with an undisclosed medical issue.

Ian DuBose is out indefinitely "for medical reasons."
Ingraham missed all of last season with a torn achilles, and had played a big role in both of Wake’s first two games in an already thin post with Ody Oguama out.
Here’s wishing Tariq and Ian all the best, and hoping for a full recovery for both. Hopefully we will see Wake Forest basketball play another game sometime sooner rather than later.
Go Deacs. Wear a mask.
