Hailing from Cartersville, Ga(yes the same school as JaCorey Johns, Isaiah Chaney, and some guy named Trevor Lawrence), safety Evan Slocum has signed his letter of intent with Wake Forest. Slocum signed with Wake over offers from App State, Coastal Carolina, Duke, Ole Miss, and South Carolina.

Slocum shows very good speed, is physical and is very fluid. At Cartersville, he plays both sides of the ball, but shows excellent prowess both as a run defender and as a cover guy and should only get better once he’s not required to learn both offensive and defensive positions. Last season Slocum racked up 90 tackles, 5 PBUs, and 2 interceptions. Through the quarterfinals of the playoffs, they play in the semis this weekend, he has racked up 84 total tackles, 1 sack, 1 hurry, 1 interception, and 5 PBUs. Oh and on offense has added 8 catches for 170 yards and a touchdown while going 1/1 for 37 yards and a touchdown as well.
Slocum reminds me a lot of Nasir Greer and I think will fit very well in that safety room that’s been getting decimated with injuries. Welcome to Wake, Evan!
