2020 National Signing Day: OL Erik Russell Signs With Wake Forest

The 3 star prospect out of Scituate, MA is set to join the Beef Boys in Winston-Salem.

Erik Russell, a 6 foot 7, 255 pound offensive lineman out of Scituate, MA has signed to play for the Wake Forest Demon Deacons. A three star prospect, Russell chose Wake Forest over offers from Boston College, Rutgers, Albany, Massachusetts, and others.

Russell is a very lean and tall offensive lineman. Primarily a tackle, Erik will likely take a redshirt year to add a ton of a good weight to his very tall frame. The Beef Boys have quietly put together another good season, opening holes for the running game and giving ample time in the passing attack. That being said, linemen are crucial for the continued success at Wake Forest and adding developmental types like Russell who seem to have a lot of potential are crucial.

Given the track record of linemen in the Clawson era, don’t be surprised that Russell will one spring camp just emerge at 300 pounds with good weight and lock down a tackle spot.

Welcome to the Demon Deacon family Erik!
