Nick Sharpe, a 6 foot 2, 297 pound lineman out of Hunter Huss High School in Gastonia, North Carolina has signed to play with the Wake Forest Demon Deacons. The three star prospect chose Wake Forest over offers from Akron, Appalachian State, Charlotte, East Carolina, and others.
Sharpe has film on both sides of the ball but it seems to be that he may like the defensive side a bit more. His film shows a very squatty but strong player who can engage blockers and penetrate to the backfield very easily.
His offensive line tape just shows grown man strength from a young age although technically Sharpe will likely be undersized to continue playing at tackle.
Ultimately, I think Sharpe ends up on the defensive line. Typically in the Clawson era, linemen are redshirted to grow into their frames and that may also be the case with Sharpe, although his tape shows good strength.
Welcome to the Demon Deacon family Nick!
