2020 National Signing Day: Linebacker Joshua Sosanya Signs With Wake Forest

The 3-star prospect out of Raleigh could definitely make a splash for the Deacons.

Joshua Sosanya, a 6’1.5”, 180 pound LB out of Wakefield High School in Raleigh, has signed to play with Wake Forest. The consensus three star prospect chose Wake over offers from Appalachian State, Georgia State, Georgia Tech, Liberty, Temple, and William and Mary.

Sosanya seems to be a very versatile defender, equally capable of coming up to make hits after coverage or in run stops and also adept at dropping back into coverage to grab interceptions, break up passes, and meet pass targets as soon as they make the catch, not allowing them any additional yardage. If Sosanya can grow into both his physical and mental skill sets and upscale some of the sorts of plays we’re seeing him make at the high school level, he could make a very welcome addition to Wake in the coming seasons. It’s also worth noting that Sosanya has been an All-Conference honoree during his high school tenure, something that would certainly be wonderful to see be replicated in his time in black and gold.

Welcome to the family, Joshua!
