In his junior season at Topsail High, Ellis helped lead the Pirates to an 8-4 record as the primary target on passing plays. He finished the 2019 season with 53 receptions for 1,116 yards and 8 touchdowns—all team highs. For his outstanding play, he was voted All MEC 1st Team. You can check out his junior season highlights below.
While Ellis had the opportunity to enroll early at Wake Forest this spring, he elected instead to stay at Topsail for his senior season, which begins in February due to the coronavirus. Congratulations Gavin, and Go Deacs!
