Billy Edwards, a 6-3, 215 lb quarterback from Burke, Virginia, has officially signed to play for the Demon Deacons. Edwards is rated as a 3-star prospect by 247Sports and is listed as the 61st best pro-style QB in the 2021 class. Edwards initially committed to Old Dominion over the summer, but de-committed and committed to Wake Forest in early December. He chose the Deacs over offers from Old Dominion, Akron, App State, Buffalo, ECU, Kent State, Liberty, UMass, Ohio, and Toledo.

Like many high schools, Lake Braddock’s fall sports, including football, were cancelled due to the pandemic. In his junior season in 2019, Edwards led the Bruins to a 10-3 record, completing 58% of his passes for 2,677 yards, 31 touchdowns, and just 6 interceptions. You can check out some of his junior year highlights below.

Edwards joins current freshman Mitch Griffis as recent quarterback recruits from the state of Virginia for Wake Forest. Welcome to Wake Forest Billy, and Go Deacs!
