Walker rushed for 128 yards and three touchdowns against the Cavaliers on Saturday, and had back-to-back touchdowns in the fourth quarter to seal the win.
Walker has had three straight 100+ rushing yards games. Against NC State he had 27 carries for 131 yards and 3 touchdowns, against Campbell he had 11 carries for 105 yards and a touchdown, and against Virginia he had 23 carries for 128 yards and 3 touchdowns.
Per the ACC’s press release, Walker is the first Wake Forest player since Chris Barclay in 2002-03 to have five or more 100+ yard rushing games in his first two seasons. He is also the first Wake Forest player to have three consecutive 100-yard rushing games since Matt Colburn II in 2017.
When you join the all-time leading rusher in school history and an ACC Player of the Year, you’re doing something right. This is even more amazing considering the fact that Walker was technically the 3rd string running back for a good portion of last year, and splits time with Christian Beal-Smith this year.
Congratulations to Kenneth Walker III! GO DEACS!!!
