The Deacs got their first win in Durham since 1993 as Gina Conti (shoutout Columbus, Ohio as my sister used to play ball with her) knocked down a clutch game winning jumper from the left elbow with 1.8 seconds left. The Deacs then successfully defended against a desperate heave to hang on.

Conti (junior) totaled 13 points while also having five assists, four rebounds, and three steals. Fellow junior Ivana Raca led the Deacs with 15 points while also adding six rebounds.
The Deacs will return to the Laurence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum for their home conference opener against Georgia Tech after starting conference play with two straight road games. Congrats again to the Women Basketball Program for ending their losing streak in Durham and Gina Conti for a great game winner!
