Wake Forest opens its conference schedule tomorrow at 3:30pm as the Deacs travel to Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts to take on the Boston College Eagles.

Without further ado, here are the picks by the BSD staff for tomorrow’s game.

Elijah (4-0)

Wake Forest 35-Boston College 27

The Deacs look to continue and roll. Last year, this game was Anthony Brown’s best passing game arguably. While Brown hasn’t started strong this season, he may lean on the good memories against a less healthy defense from a year ago.

While referring to last year’s game, things are definitely much different and the Deacs will likely continue to show strength on offense.

The Deacs are going to be motivated to get this W, especially after a loss last year that deflated the fan base.

Riley (4-0)

Wake Forest 38-Boston College 24

This one is tough. There are a lot of people riding high on the Deacs, and for good reason, but A.J Dillon ran all over Wake Forest last year in Winston-Salem. Wake does, however, boast a better, more aggressive defense under Lyle Hemphill, and somehow an even better offense as well. Wake opened up at around -3 and is now between -6 to -7 depending on where you look. At the risk of being too optimistic, I actually think the Deacs go on the road and win a relatively low stress game in #TheRivalry. The road team has won the last 5 games in this series and I think the Deacs make it 6 in a row behind the continued fantastic play of Jamie Newman.

Samurai (4-0)

Wake Forest 24-Boston College 20

This prediction scares me a bit, but...24-20 Deacs.

I just don’t think Boston College has the coaching or the talent to beat the Deacs this year. 5-0 here we come. Oh God. Dare I hope?

Cam (4-0)

Wake Forest 35-Boston College 20

Wake’s offense is running on all cylinders right now so it’s hard to not imagine they hold their end of the 70+ O/U bargain. BC, however, has had their hands full with Rutgers and lost to Kansas. They started out with a decent win against VT but needed all 5 turnovers and a missed A gap assignment to do so. I don’t think Wake makes that many mistakes nor do I think that BC is really equipped to handle a team that can actually run read option. Look for a lot of Scotty and Kendall in this one.

Edward (4-0)

Wake Forest 38-Boston College 31

The Deacs continue to rely on the formula that has worked all year in Jamie Newman throwing to Sage Surratt and Scotty Washington. Kenneth Walker has another big day out of the backfield, and the defense is able to keep AJ Dillon in check enough to come away with the win and go to 5-0 and 1-0 in conference play to start the season. As long as we don't make Anthony Brown look like a Heisman candidate like we did last year we should be in good shape.

Adam (3 Correct-Utah State, Rice, and Elon; 1 Incorrect-UNC)

Wake Forest 34-Boston College 27

The Deacs will open up a sizable lead in the first half behind another big day from Newman and Surratt. The Eagles will make things uncomfortably close at the end, but Wake Forest hangs on to go 5-0.

Grumpy (2-0)

Bart (1-0)
