The Wake Forest Demon Deacons finally get a traditional college football date for a game. After three consecutive Friday games (and victories over Utah State, Rice, and North Carolina), the Deacs get a little extra rest and face the Elon Phoenix on Saturday.
Elon comes in with a 2-1 record and Coach Clawson gives the Phoenix credit as potentially being the toughest FCS opponent he’s going to coach against.
Wake Forest coach Dave Clawson on Elon: "This will be the highest-ranked FCS opponent we've faced in my time here."

The Deacs have had a bit better luck with the injury bug but there are still some key players that will be out.

Coming back from injury are DL Tyler Williams (behind Rondell Bothroyd) and Cade Carney. Sadly, it seems that Kendall Hinton is still likely not going to be able to play against Elon as Jaquarii Roberson is still listed as the starter with Hinton no where to be found.
With Carney back in the fold, the RB depth chart goes 1-2-3 with Carney, Beal-Smith, and Walker III. While there is no “OR” designation, it’d be prudent to think that CBS and KWIII will get a lot of time against the feisty FCS opponent.
Deac Nation is still extremely happy but no opponent can be taken likely. Look for Clawson to keep the team motivated and as always, Go Deacs!
