Marcus Watson, a 5-11, 155 pound point guard out of Chicago, committed to play for the Deacs late on Tuesday night.

Watson is rated as a 4-star prospect by 247 Sports and the 118th best player in the 2020 class. His commitment gives the Deacs the 15th best recruiting class in the nation and the 4th best in the ACC for the time being.
In the Nike Elite Youth Basketball League (EYBL), Watson averaged 10.6 points, 9.5 assists, and 2.3 steals per game and lead the league in assists.
Just going off of his highlights, the left handed Watson is incredibly quick and has a gift for finishing shots around the basket. Regardless of what system a team is running, a player who can beat his man and score at the rim or create open opportunities for his teammates is crucial. Based on his quickness and steals numbers, Watson should be able to bring some much needed help on the defensive end to the Deacs as well. You can check out some of his highlights from this year’s EYBL Peach Jam below.
