Wake Forest makes their second consecutive trip to the NCAA Championship, their 16th overall, behind a strong team approach with Siyun Liu, Emilia Miglaiccio, and Jennifer Kupcho all placing in the top-15. Vanessa Knecht and Letizia Bagnoli had strong rounds of 71 and 75 to round out the scoring.
The Deacs had started out of the gate a bit slow, ending round one tied for eighth. Slowly but surely, the team rallied to finish in the top two.
The NCAA Championships begin on May 17 in Fayetteville, Arkansas and is a bit of a different format with the top eight teams advancing after four rounds of stroke play. The top eight teams that advance will then participate in match play to determine the NCAA title winner.
Congratulations to the Women Golf Deacs in making the championship and especially thank the following seniors who have represented Wake so well during their tenure:
Mai Dechathipat
Antonia Eberhard
Monica Schumacher
Jennifer Kupcho - (NCAA Champion, 2018 Player of the Year, Winner of Inaugural Augusta National Women’s Amateur)
