Wake Forest was led by senior Lee Detmer who finished the tournament at 2-under par.
As a team the Deacs finished Monday’s round at 3-over, and 20-over for the weekend, which due to the difficulty of the course was good for third. Stanford, Wake’s opponent, finished sixth.
According to golfstat.com the Deacs will continue with their same lineup tomorrow of freshman Alex Fitzpatrick in the one spot, Detmer in the second spot, freshman Eugenio Chacarra in the third spot, junior Eric Bae in the fourth spot, and senior Cameron Young in the fifth spot.
Wake Forest is seeking its fourth Men’s Golf National Championship, having won previously in 1974, 1975, and 1986.
In addition to the success of the players on the course this weekend, Head Coach Jerry Haas was named as one of five finalists for the Dave Williams Award as National Coach of the Year.
Congrats to Coach Haas on being named one of the five finalists for the Dave Williams Award, given to the national coach of the year!
