NFL Draft Recap: Haynes and 6 others to have opportunity at the next level

Phil Haynes was the lone draft pick but a few of his classmates have found opportunities for the next level as well.

The NFL Draft Weekend in Nashville has come and gone. The Wake Forest Demon Deacons kept their streak alive of having a player selected with OL Phil Haynes getting selected early on Day 3 in Round 4.

Haynes had quietly crept up the draft board after a strong combine performance where he quelled doubts about his athleticism. The Seattle Seahawks will luckily have a hard-working and experienced offensive lineman.

Fellow Beef Boy Ryan Anderson will get his shot with the Miami Dolphins.

Perhaps as relatively surprising it was for Haynes to go a bit earlier than expected was WR Greg Dortch not being selected at all. However, he was quickly snagged by the New York Jets as an undrafted free agent.

Dortch goes to the Jets while two Deacs will be going to the Los Angeles Rams. RB Matt Colburn and WR Alex Bachman will get an opportunity with the defending NFC Champs.

S Cam Glenn, the heart of the Deacs defense finds a home with the San Francisco 49ers.

Last but not least, Willie Yarbury will get a chance with the Atlanta Falcons.

As these former Deacs turn the page onto their professional careers, we wish them nothing but the best.
