GOJO BACK, GOJO BACK, GOT ALL THESE CAVALIERS SCREAMIN’ GOJO BACK

So to be easier and fair to all parties involved, I’m gonna run through this weekend in chronological order.

I’d be a horrible human to not congratulate the men on booking their ticket to ITA indoors and the women on fighting valiantly in the last round.

GOJO IS BACK BABY. Borna Gojo, the Junior from Split, Croatia, has been cleared and will likely be in action this weekend. #Sources say he could even be seen today against perennial powerhouse UVA.

Borna has been #good his last two tournaments making it to the Quarterfinals and Round of 16 in his last two tournaments.

Today the men take on UVA, who had a bit of a down year last year, but reloaded insanely well this year. Very strong doubles team, and 1-4 look good with players such as Brandon Nakashima who was the runner up at Boys 18s Nationals and made it to the quarterfinals of Junior US Open and French Open. It’s at UVA which poses a bit of a harder task, but with or without Gojo I think Wake takes this one.

On Saturday, the women have a home doubleheader(go support) against William and Mary at 10 am followed by Western Carolina at 3:30. It’ll be interesting to see if/how the team switches things up coming off the loss at South Carolina before the get into the meat of their schedule. Even with them not advancing to indoors, I think this team more than enough talent to make some noise come ACC play.

Sunday, Sunday, Sunday. The men come back to Winston to play a surprising Baylor team. The Bears actually stunned the world qualifying for ITA Indoors beating #12 UGA and hosts Michigan. The hiring of former UVA coach Brian Boland, who has 4 NCAA Titles as a coach and was the Head of Men’s Tennis for USTA Player Development has really helped this team.

Good tennis this weekend, good teams, these should be #good

Go Deacs.
