As the NFL Combine is in full swing, the Deacs have a pair of players participating. WR Greg Dortch and OL Phil Haynes will have their chance to impress all the NFL teams. With the “official” measurements coming in, few were surprised that Dortch measured a little smaller than anticipated at 5 foot 7 and 173 pounds. Haynes measured at 6 foot 4 and 322 pounds.

Dortch is likely trying to shake off the minor injury concerns and is projected to have a strong combine, even making some pre-combine lists for potentially having good numbers. Haynes on the other hand will try to shake off the stigma that he is “more known for durability and leadership” with his combine numbers.
As Dortch and Haynes look to impress, credit has to go to Coach Clawson who has helped get Deacs in the NFL via the draft. Wake Forest has had a player drafted in each of the last two drafts and last year had multiple players drafted in Duke Ejiofor and Jessie Bates. Hopefully, this year will be the same.
