Former Wake Forest Quarterback John Wolford is Starting Under Center Again

Wolford got the nod for the Arizona Hotshots of the new AAF

John Wolford was cut by the New York Jets just a couple of days after being signed in the NFL Preseason.

But his football career is far from over. He is now the starting quarterback for the Arizona Hotshots of the Alliance of American Football, and is playing in the franchise’s first ever game tonight.

Based upon what I saw last night from the Orlando-Atlanta game, Wolford should fit right in in this league.

His strong arm makes for great downfield throws, which seems to be the name of the game in this league. You need to score early and often, and Wolford is certainly capable of leading an offense to this.

Obviously, the hope is that Wolford will get noticed enough to get a spot on an NFL roster, as this league is partly designed to do.

Tune in now on NFL Network if you want to see our favorite #10 (thought #7 on this team) back on the football field. I know I do!
