The Wake Forest Demon Deacons (seeded 4th) topped the Michigan Wolverines (seeded 13th) on Sunday evening. Kyle Holcomb lead the Deacs with two goals while Bruno Lapa added a PK to give the Deacs their three goals to Michigan’s one.

With the Deacs advancing, this marks Wake Forest’s fourth trip to the NCAA Quarterfinals in the last five years. The Deacs have earned a home game after a strong regular season and will face UC Santa Barbara at Spry Stadium on Saturday.

Tickets are on sale and students again have free admission on the hill.

With such an important game, it’s key to have as many fans supporting the student athletes in Gold & Black.

Side Deacon Notes:

The Demon Deacon Athletic Program continues to excel. Despite basketball suffering a crushing loss to the Arizona Wildcats and the football team falling short against the Syracuse Orange, there’s still a lot to play for. Wake Forest basketball can continue to show improvement among key plays like Olivier Sarr while the football team can go for their fourth straight bowl game victory. As we enter the holiday season, let’s keep the momentum going for all Deacon athletics.
