If you like video game numbers, then this is your guy to watch.
The latest Wake Forest football class has gained another member. Quenton Cooley, a 5’8, 193 pound back out of Southern Nash High School has signed with Wake Forest. He also held an offer from the Naval Academy. Ranked as three-star by 247 Sports, he is the 73rd ranked RB in the nation, and the 35th ranked recruit overall out of North Carolina.

Yes, you’re reading that correctly. THREE THOUSAND YARDS AND FIFTY FIVE TOUCHDOWNS. IN ONE SEASON. Cooley was just plain good this year and Wake Forest is getting a really good running back to add to the corps alongside Christian Beal-Smith, Kendrell Flowers and Kenneth Walker III.
Currently, Cooley is participating in Shrine Bowl drills and practices, where he’s already receiving praise on his for his quickness and using his size to his advantage on day one. On a Wake Forest offense that prides itself on going fast, being fast, and being efficient, Cooley seems like he will fit right in, put his head down and get to work.
It’s very hard to project who breaks out next year due to losing Cade Carney but also getting Flowers healthy, a few new OL starters, RBs can get banged up and miss time here and there, but Cooley seems like the real deal.
I’m ecstatic to add another back to the fold and watch him put up video game numbers on Saturdays. Welcome Quenton! Glad to have you here!
