DL Malik Puryear Signs With Wake Forest

The 6-6, 250 pound Defensive Lineman out of High Point, NC is now officially a Demon Deacon

NCAA Football: Florida State at Wake Forest Jeremy Brevard-USA TODAY Sports

Defensive Lineman Malik Puryear signed with Wake Forest today and will join a loaded DL for Wake Forest 2020 football season.

Puryear is a 6-6, 250 DL out of High Point, North Carolina. He chose the Demon Deacons over offers from Charlotte, Virginia, Louisville, and Liberty. Ranked as three-star by 247 Sports, he is the the 49th ranked recruit overall out of North Carolina, and the 1452nd ranked recruit in the nation.

Being 6-6, 250 lbs, Puryear comes to Wake immediately as one of its’ largest players and I am ALLL the way ok with that. He seems to be slotted to move more inside and use his size and abilities against Guards and Centers and would get at least a year to get stronger and be more comfortable moving to the next level. If me moves inside he’d be behind strong interior linemen like Miles Fox and Tyler Williams, two great people to learn the craft from when just starting out. His tape shows just how disruptive he can be and it’s something very exciting to watch and project him to get even better.

This is a very good get for Dave Clawson, Dave Cohen, and the Demon Deacon family as a whole. Welcome aboard Malik!
