James Ash, a Defensive Tackle out of Chamberlain High School in Tampa, FL, has become a Demon Deacon. A composite 3 star recruit, James stands 6'3" and tips the scales at 281 pounds. He registered a 4.79 shuttle drill, boasts a 27" vertical, a 79.5" wingspan, and 11" hands.

In highlights, James was able to wreak havoc on offensive fronts, and displayed a nice ability to finish off plays, something that was at times lacking with Wake's pressure this season. If you needed any other reason to be excited, though, James boasts a pretty insane offer sheet. He chose Wake Forest over all of the following: Bowling Green, Rhode Island, Toledo, Southern Miss, USF, UCF, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa State, Maryland, Kansas State, TCU, Miami, Georgia Tech, and, get this, LSU. That last one made me do a double take. He's bound to be a baller if they wanted him in the bayou.
Here is a link to some of his Hudl highlights.
Welcome, James, and Go Deacs!
