This is a huge game for Wake Forest’s New Years 6 bowl aspirations. A win puts the Deacs at 8-1 with Clemson, Duke, and Syracuse left on the schedule. Wake would just need to win 2 out of those 3 to get to 10 wins for the second time in school history. The Deacs haven’t won in Blacksburg since 1983 (which sounds bad but we’ve only played them on the road once since then), so getting the win is no small task.
