For the first time in program history, the Deacs are in the top 25 for the CFP.

The Wake Forest Demon Deacons football program continues to be a shining example of athletic program building. Led by Coach Clawson, the Deacs have been turned around, from 3-9 to three consecutive bowl game victories. Now, Wake Forest adds another feather to their cap, being ranked in the CFP.

For the first time in program history, the Deacs are in the top 25 of the College Football Playoff rankings. Wake Forest joins the Clemson Tigers as the two lone programs representing the Atlantic Coast Conference.

Granted, this is the first of the weekly rankings that will get updated with every week as teams continue to go through the heart of their conference schedules. The Big Ten and SEC dominated the inaugural ranking with two teams each in the top four.

However those teams (The Ohio State Buckeyes, LSU Tigers, Alabama Crimson Tide, Penn State Nittany Lions) will play each other in conference play, leaving this ranking to be just a placeholder for now.

With the Deacs making another mark, time will only tell what other marks the team can make with the Orange Bowl, double digit wins, and even ACC Championship hopes still alive.
