After the bye week, the Deacs are still undefeated at 5-0. Thanks to some favorable game results from teams ranked ahead them, Wake Forest is moving up in both the AP and the Coaches Poll.

The Deacs moved up to #17 in the Coaches Poll, moving up 3 spots from #20 a week ago. In the AP Top 25, Wake also moved up 3 spots to #19 from their ranking of #22 last week.
Since the Deacs didn’t play this week, the movement is due to ranked teams losing and falling out of the polls. Washington, who was 15th in the AP and 16th in the Coaches, lost to Stanford 13-23 and is no longer ranked. Likewise, UCF, who was 18th in the AP and 19th in the Coaches, lost to Cincinnati on Friday night by a score of 24-27 and dropped out of the rankings. The Deacs slid past Iowa in the latest Coaches Poll after the Hawkeyes lost to Michigan 3-10. In the AP, the Deacs were aided by #19 Oklahoma State falling to Texas Tech by a score 35-45.
