Wake Forest Football: Getting through the bye week

Wake Forest doesn’t play a game this week but there’s still plenty to keep tabs on.

The Wake Forest Demon Deacons do not have a game this weekend. It’s going to be tough, especially as the Deacs are rolling with a 5-0 record.

If you need more to get through, Brett McMurphy from Stadium updated his bowl game projections and the Deacs are projected to be in the Orange Bowl per the latest.

In terms of games going on, there are three (3!) matchups involving ranked on ranked action. The Big Ten boasts two of those. The Ohio State Buckeyes host the Michigan State Spartans which probably won’t be too interesting considering the Buckeyes dominance so far in the season (and being 20 point favorites). Michigan tries to rebuild their reputation as Iowa visits the Big House. Iowa has QB Nate Stanley who is a potential NFL Draft pick.

The “biggest” game is in the SEC as it boast a top-ten matchup between the Auburn Tigers and Florida Gators. Both teams enter undefeated but something will have to give as GameDay travels to Gainesville as well for the game.

Last but not least to look out for, Utah State plays Louisiana State. Joe Burrow and the Tigers have impressed many with the improved offense but Utah State has a pretty darn good quarterback themselves in Jordan Love (as Wake Forest experienced).

Overall, not having a game is odd after starting the season on a bunch of Fridays and then winning a rivalry game. As fans, we can use this week to keep our heart rates low and just enjoy good football happening all around the nation.
