In what is the biggest loss of the season for Wake Forest, the Deacs have announced that they will be without senior linebacker Justin Strnad for the remainder of the year. Strnad underwent successful surgery Tuesday morning for a ruptured bicep he suffered in Wake’s 22-20 win over Florida State last Saturday.

This is a huge loss for the Wake Forest defense, as Strnad was leading the team with 69 total tackles and added 5.5 tackles for loss, 2 sacks, 1 interception, and 4 passes defended. He was recently named to the Bednarik Award watch list for the the best defensive player in college football for his play this season.
Strnad will finish his 4 year playing career with the Deacs with 244 total tackles, 22.5 tackles for loss, 8 sacks, 4 interceptions, 10 passes defended, and 3 forced fumbles.
I think I can speak for all of us when I say that we are hoping for a speedy recovery. Get well soon Justin!
