Boston College Opens as 5 Point Favorite Over Wake Forest

The Eagles head to Winston-Salem for a Thursday primetime game, but will Hurricane Florence damper everything?

The Boston College Eagles open up as a five point favorite in #therivalry against the Wake Forest Demon Deacons according to BetOnline. Both teams have started the season 2-0, and quite frankly this is a massive early season matchup in the Atlantic for what is all of a sudden a wide open race for second place behind Clemson given the struggles of Florida State thus far.

The line quickly bounced up to 5.5 for BC, but there are a ton of variables heading into this one, predominantly the weather concerns that Hurricane Florence will bring for the Thursday night game in Winston-Salem. Currently the storm is slated to make landfall on Wednesday night around Wilmington, NC. If that is the case then the game could be in jeopardy.

Wake Forest defeated Towson 51-20 yesterday and Boston College vanquished Holy Cross 62-14. The Deacs knocked off the Eagles 34-10 last year in Chestnut Hill.

Both the Eagles and the Deacons have a player who could be considered the most electrifying in all of college football in running back AJ Dillon and WR Greg Dortch.

Boston College is ranked 13th in the most up-to-date S&P Rankings that came out today. Wake Forest is ranked 53rd. This one should be a pretty entertaining game, but the weather would likely benefit BC because they can keep the ball on the ground with Dillon, and it would slow down the quick strike offense of Dave Clawson and Wake Forest.

We will have a lot more on this game all week, and especially the impact that Hurricane Florence could have on it.
