2019 Granby (Mass.) MacDuffie School forward Ismael Massoud verbally committed to Wake Forest’s Men Basketball Program today.

Regarding his decision:

“I decided on Wake Forest and the reason I picked them is one because of the coaching staff,” Massoud said. “They have been there since the very start of my recruitment and stayed consistent along with the fact that all of them have pro experience so they’ve done what I’m trying to do.”

“There’s so much I can learn from in terms of my own development along with their top notch strength and conditioning program, and then the school itself was beautiful with a family feel as well as their top notch academics which made them the best of both worlds.”

Massoud, a 6-foot-8 forward, picked Wake Forest over other high major offers such as Rutgers, Georgia Tech, and others. He visited Wake Forest this past weekend and got comfortable with the coaching staff. Though considered a big man, Massoud displays a sweet shooting stroke.

Coach Manning, a big man whisperer, continues to be able to recruit and develop based on his pedigree. Massoud ranks as a top 125 player according to the 247Sports and is the first commitment of the 2019 Wake Forest Basketball class.
