The Wake Forest Football Demon Deacons defeated Towson in their home opener. In a game with 51 points for the Deacs, WR Greg Dortch alone was responsible for three touchdowns. While one was a bit more traditional from a pass from freshman QB Sam Hartman, two touchdowns came via special teams in the form of punt returns.

Dortch amassed 131 punt return yards on three tries for an average of 43.7 with the longest return producing a 70 yard touchdown. Dortch also contributed 85 return yards on the kick return game and led the contest with 94 receiving yards (and a receiving touchdown).
Sum those totals together (310 yards), and just be glad this young man is playing for the Old Gold and Black.
Greg Dortch is averaging 255 all-purpose yards per game so far… 50 more than anyone else in the country.

Congratulations to WR Dortch for his recognition this week. With the Boston College Eagles coming town (along with some very severe weather), Wake will likely continue to lean on Dortch in multiple facets of the game to start 1-0 in ACC play.
