Both teams are currently 2-0, with the Deacs knocking off Towson 51-20, and the Irish winning a closer-than-expected 24-16 game over Ball State.
While Wake fans would certainly have liked to avoid another noon kickoff due to heat, as well as more of a primetime exposure vs. the Irish, it’s a decent consolation prize to play on national television.
If all games proceed as currently scheduled then Wake will have a nine day break heading into the game, but there is a very good chance that the game on Thursday against Boston College might be postponed due to Hurricane Florence.
Notre Dame takes on Vanderbilt this weekend and should be 3-0 when it heads to Winston-Salem to take on the Deacons.
