So in case you didn’t know:

The North Carolina State University Wolfpack did in fact lose a game in Winston-Salem last year. And in wonderful fashion. In case you forgot how Wake 100% won the game with a strip right before Emeka Emezie crossed the goalline watch this!

It’s a new year though, and new challenges face the Deacs as they have to face the Wolfpack on the road where, let’s face it, the Deacs haven’t been good especially against the Wolfpack. Dave Doeren is a pretty good coach and deserves his new contract (we still have the better Dave though) but what does NC State bring to the table talent wise?

To say this offense will be good would be a horrid understatement. Ryan Finley looks to be one of the better QBs in the ACC and has a talented crew of WR’s to help him help his stock headlined by Kelvin Harmon and Jakobi Meyers. They also bring back Emeka Emezie, who outside of the game ending fumble, was having a pretty good game and racked up at least one catch in 7 games last year. While I still vote that Wake’s offensive line is the best in the ACC, NC State’s isn’t bad. They lost 2 all-ACC players but return 3 seniors who combined for over 70 starts. Wake’s defense needs to be on point if they want to slow this team down.

Woo buddy.

This team had 4, I repeat, FOUR draft picks within the top 140 that came from their defensive line. This included Bradley Chubb ( yes that last name sounds familiar) going 5th overall. They still had an average devense to be generous. Those 4 are gone but things look dim. The depth will somewhat be a thing on the defensive line, but at linebacker, They have maybe 4 actual players in the rotation. In the defensive back corps, things are pretty young so it’ll be interesting to see how these play out.

I’ll be short and sweet with special teams: One kicker went 5-11 on FGs under 40 yards and the other was 3-5. Oh and they both missed PATs. All that needs to be said.

All in all this team looks like one that is going to have a lot of toss ups. I think the offense will be good, but it comes down to the defense. Unless this offense balls out that defense will be tested time and time again. If Wake’s defense can bend but not break they have much more than a fighting chance in this one.

But hey if there’s goal line cameras this time we’ll get more views of this wonderful play
